- Perfect all on its own! This mix is also the perfect base to be as creative as you desire: add fruits, nuts, spices, chips, dried fruits. Try this: substitute fruit or vegetable puree (such as applesauce or canned pumpkin) for a portion of the buttermilk or the yogurt to create your own signature muffin!
